Recognizing and using design principles in our pruning practice.

Maryann is an APA Certified Aesthetic pruner and California licensed architect. In 1999 she moved from Portland Oregon to California to further her architectural career when she discovered the world of aesthetic pruning. Maryann was thrilled to find that like architecture, aesthetic pruning was centered around the combination of art and science. She completed the Merritt College Aesthetic Pruning classes and began her pruning business in 2005, specializing in long term tree development and design. In 2009 she became a founding member of the Aesthetic Pruners Association along with other members of the Merritt College Pruning Club. In 2015 her family and business moved back to Portland where she is happy to find an abundance of conifers to prune and friendly people living amongst the trees.
